The Group is committed to supporting the career planning for all of its employees and the annual review process provides an opportunity for every employee to discuss their personal aspirations and what skills they would like to develop.

Leadership programme

 Leadership programme

In 2011 CPP began a UK-wide leadership programme aimed at 160 middle and senior leaders. The programme called ‘developing a leadership mindset’ aims to equip CPP’s leadership team for the next phase of growth, and overcome the current challenges by providing the knowledge, skills, and tools to ensure all our employees are engaged in achieving our strategic goals.

CPP understands that its future success will be driven by a high-performing culture when everyone can contribute to the success of the organisation. This will be through living our values and exhibiting the behaviours that are consistent with our business strategies. This can only be achieved through great leadership.

Started in 2011, the programme will run throughout 2012 with all participants attending four days of training built around the characteristics of great leadership and how to use their own personal strength to inspire and develop the people they lead. Additional support is being provided through the use of a visual learning map, which is an approach designed to clearly communicate CPP’s culture, strategy, and ambitions. All employees in the UK will go through this exercise with their immediate line manager. Participants have also been invited to take part in, and lead ‘world cafe’ discussion groups focused on elements of the programme and that will, in addition, generate new and innovative ideas to support the programme’s objectives.

In 2012, CPP will launch a new group-wide leadership framework designed to underpin the mindset programme and clearly describe what great leadership looks like. This will enable us to continue to benchmark and measure leadership behaviour and ensure we meet our cultural ambitions and the high standards expected.
